Iptables Rules Installation

Iptables is an extremely versatile firewall utility built for the Linux operating system. Whether you are new to Linux or a system administrator, there may be several ways that iptables can be useful to you. Read on as we guide you through installing iptables rules.

Open HTTP Port 80

iptables -A INPUT -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 80 -m state --state NEW,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT iptables -A OUTPUT -o eth0 -p tcp --sport 80 -m state --state ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT iptables -A TLF-SYN-FLOOD -p tcp -m tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT iptables -I TLF-SYN-FLOOD -p tcp -m tcp --dport 80 -j ACCEPT

Open Port 81

iptables -A TLF-SYN-FLOOD -p tcp -m tcp --dport 81 -j ACCEPT iptables -I TLF-SYN-FLOOD -p tcp -m tcp --dport 81 -j ACCEPT

Open Multiple Ports

iptables -A TLF-SYN-FLOOD -p tcp -m multiport --dports 22,80,443 -j ACCEPT iptables -I TLF-SYN-FLOOD -p tcp -m multiport --sports 22,80,443 -j ACCEPT

Allow Ip Access SSH

iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -s YOUR.SERVERIP.HERE --dport 22 -j ACCEPT iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -s YOUR.HOMEIP.HERE --dport 22 -j ACCEPT

Deny ALL Access SSH
(this rule must be at the end)

iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 22 -j DROP
